What is tingling?

Tingling in the hands and feet is often seen as a needle or pin prick. In the medical world, it has been named as paresthesia. Under this problem, any part of the hand or leg becomes numb and there is a feeling of sharp tingling. This is an occasional problem. Although this tingling can occur in any part of the body, it most commonly affects the fingers, hands, arms, feet, and soles. Causes of tingling:

  • Sitting or standing in one position for a long time.
  • Herniated disc (problem pressing on nerves)

  • Habits that can cause the feet and legs to fall asleep include:
    • sitting or kneeling for long periods

    • wearing pants, socks, or shoes that are too tight

   1. Apply cider vinegar:

Apple cider vinegar can be helpful in relieving tingling. In fact, according to a research published on the NCBI website, the use of apple cider vinegar was found beneficial in patients with varicose veins (a problem related to veins). The main objective of this research was to reduce its symptoms such as pain, swelling, tingling, cramping and other such symptoms in patients. This study revealed that external use of apple cider vinegar can have a positive effect on varicose patients. In such a situation, apple vinegar can prove useful to remove tingling in the hands and feet.

 

2 .Rock salt:

If you want to reduce tingling in the body, then the benefits of rock salt can be seen in it. Relaxing muscles is one of those properties. It also has anti-inflammatory properties, which can be beneficial for reducing or preventing inflammation. In such a situation, sometimes the use of rock salt in the bath water can be helpful in relaxing the muscles and nerves of the body.

3.Cinnamon oil:

Braces and specially designed footwear can help reduce nerve pressure caused by conditions such as injury, tarsal tunnel syndrome, or flat feet

  6.Alcohol reduction or avoidance:

Alcohol contains toxins that can cause nerve damage and numbness. Alcohol also usually makes the symptoms of chronic pain and inflammatory conditions worse and can even cause flare-ups of symptoms.

  7. Rest:

Many of the conditions that cause leg and foot numbness, such as nerve pressure, improve with rest.

   8. Ice:

Ice can help reduce swelling that can put pressure on nerves. Apply cold compresses or wrapped icepacks to numb    legs and feet for 15 minutes at a time several times daily.

   9. Heat:

Heat can sometimes help loosen stiff, sore, or tense muscles that can put pressure on nerves and cause numbness.    However, avoid overheating numb legs and feet, as this may or worsen inflammation and cause pain and numbness.

Tips for Preventing Tingling In the Hands & Feet :

  • Do not sit or stand in the same posture for a long time.
  • Keep taking breaks in between work.
  • Include nutritious food in the diet.
  • Abstain from smoking or alcohol consumption.
  • Keep changing your position while sleeping at night.
  • Relax yourself.
